Pakistan telecommunication Authority (PTA) has aforesaid, that it blocked over 200000 Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, 1,382 mobile SIMs and 3160 phones/devices through their International Mobile instrumentality Identity (IMEI) numbers throughout last one month.
A statement issued by the regulator aforesaid, that the gray watching system has been operational since early Oct 2013 and has the aptitude to mechanically block those IPs – carrying VoIP traffic — that aren't within the PTA’s whitelist.
Furthermore, once the installation of gray Traffic watching instrumentality, as per the directions of gray Traffic watching Committee, PTA has conducted an in depth audit of the whitelist IPs. currently whitelisting of IPs is being done once a really rigorous check and a strict SOP has been created during this regard.
As a result the informatics whitelist has been rationalized and reduced from 51000 to ten,360.
In addition to the present, PTA has launched a 24/7 criticism censure. Complainants will lodge their complaints through email (complaint@pta.gov.pk), toll free phone (080055055), fax (051-2878127) and free sms (668) whereby they will report ranges just in case any native number seems once receiving a global decision.
Through this facility 1944 complaints are received until date. The numbers according aren't solely blocked, however, are analyzed for action.
In a recent case, gray traffic was detected by PTA and for additional analysis, it had been established that a LDI (Long Distance and International) operator M/s Wise Communication (Pvt) Ltd. Was concerned with gray traffic.
A joint raid was conducted by the PTA and FIA and illegal terminating instrumentality was appropriated and culprits understood.As per initial estimates a complete about eleven Million minutes per month were being illicitly brought into the Asian country by Wise Communication (Pvt) Ltd. In another 2 victorious raid conducted in the city, PTA in conjunction with the FIA appropriated 9 (09) gateways.
